The Digital Business of the Future:
While this isn’t breaking news, as it’s been known since spring 2022, today we’re sharing a business update—think of it as a “back to the future” moment. This marks a significant milestone in our company’s history: Since April 2022, we have been part of CARIAD, the automotive software company of the Volkswagen Group. We share a common vision: to redefine all forms of mobility and travel through software innovation. As a company and brand, we, voya, continue to operate independently. However, we benefit from the global VW network’s structures, while VW can leverage our technology in its journey to becoming a software-driven mobility provider. It’s a win-win for both sides!
With this step, CARIAD has reaffirmed its confidence in the technology we’ve developed. Together, we see great potential in using and further developing our digital platform for booking and paying for business travel as a foundation for future intermodal, digital VW services.
This, by the way, is the core business of CARIAD. The VW subsidiary aims to develop software-based services for various models within the Volkswagen Group. This is precisely why the partnership with voya is such a “perfect fit.” By 2030, nearly a third of VW’s revenue in the global mobility market is expected to come from services like ours. Around 4,500 engineers and developers at CARIAD are working worldwide, among other things, to build a unified software platform for all Volkswagen Group brands.
We Are Family: voya Enriches the VW Family
In 2020, we at voya joined the Volkswagen Group, specifically Volkswagen Financial Services AG, with the goal of expanding the mobility offerings for fleet customers by adding a travel management service for business trips.
Since then, as a dynamic, agile technology company, we have been integrated into the global VW structures, becoming part of a vast network with reputation, relevance, and tradition. Just like in a “real” family, it was clear from the start: Each company retains its original form and function to continue playing its unique role in shaping the future of mobility. And that’s exactly what we do—every day, with full commitment and passion!
